Happy New Year!

Hey 5th Graders! We made it through our last class of 2021! This week, we learned the letters Vet and Vav, and explored the "stop sign" vowel. Of course, we had to leave time for some games and to share what we are looking forward to over our nice long winter break. The next time I'll see you is either Tuesday, January 11th or Wednesday, January 12th. It feels like SO far away, but I know it will pass by quickly. Before we meet again in January, please make sure to practice (out loud!) lines 1-6 on page 47 of your book. I can't wait to see you again in 2022! Happy winter break, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Superstar Decoders!

Hey 5th Graders! You truly are turning into a bunch of Superstar Hebrew Decoders. You should be so proud of yourselves! This week in class, we looked at both letters that make the "T" sound - Tet and Tav. Remember, Tet has an open Top, and Tav has a Toe! We also reviewed our vowel sounds and ended with a rhyming activity. For homework this week, you'll be practicing that Rhyme Time activity even more! It's on the top of page 44, and after you practice you should call my Google Voice number and read lines 1-4 out loud. Looking forward to seeing you again next week - it will be our last week before winter break! Let's make it a great one.

Happy Chanukah!

Hey 5th Graders! Happy Chanukah! I hope you've had a bright start to Chanukah so far. It was awesome seeing you again this week - I missed you over Thanksgiving! In class, we looked at lesson 8 in Alef Bet Quest. We also of course practiced the  Chanukah Blessings! For homework, you should practice reading (out loud!) lines 1-6 on page 37 of your book. Then, call my Google Voice number and record lines 2-4 for me. Extra: use your  Chanukah Blessings  sheet to help light the menorah with your family! Have a great rest of the holiday, and I'll see you next week!
